MESSAGE FROM THE CONVENOR

This year, we are blessed to host once again the Marian Conference on October 10 and 11. Now on its 8th year, the theme “With Mary, We Journey in Hope!” affirms our unity with the Universal Church as we celebrate the Jubilee Year of Hope. To date, we have confirmed the participation of Rev. Fr. Dismas Sayre, OP, the Director for the Rosary Center, and the Promoter of the Rosary Confraternity for the Western Dominican Province; and Catholic therapist Dr. Jillian Hawks as our presentors. We will also have the Auxiliary Bishop of the Diocese of Orange, His Excellency Most Reverend Thanh Thai Nguyen for the Opening Mass and Keynote on October 10, and our very own Bishop, His Excellency Most Reverend Michael Barber, SJ for the Closing Mass and Candlelit Rosary Procession on October 11. As I have always done in the past, I call on you to consider this Conference an opportune time to be drawn back to the core of our Faith: the Holy Eucharist, Confessions, Adoration, devotions, and community – elements that will definitely be highlighted once again at this year’s Marian event. Let us, with Mary’s example, truly be courageous yet gentle, joyful yet prayerful, proud yet humble, in our witnessing of our Faith, and invite our families and friends to attend this Marian Conference we are hosting here at IHM. When we do, we contribute in this important task of sharing the blessing we have received, and hence, partaking in the mission entrusted to the disciples before and to us today – to journey in Hope! See you all at the Conference in October, Yours in prayers, Father Quang Dong Covenor, 2025 Marian Conference Pastor, Immaculate Heart of Mary Church
