Immaculate Heart of Mary,

Jesus’ disciples still don’t get it. Even after telling the disciples that he is going to his Father’s house where there will be a place prepared for them. Thomas and Phillip ask questions that show their lack of understanding. Jesus’ response, however, sets the record straight: “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” Jesus tells us that he is the way. Like any master teacher, Jesus does not just tell his disciples where to go. Rather he says, “I am the Way. Come, follow me.” Jesus shows his disciples a way of life to the Father. The way of life is a person. But this way is not always easy. Jesus tells us not to let our hearts be troubled. In doing so, however, Jesus is not telling us that we will never experience any anxiety or fear. Rather, Jesus reminds us we do not have to walk the journey alone. There will be difficulty and even death, but Jesus goes ahead to prepare the way for us. Jesus wants us to share both the joys and challenges of our journey with him. Again, the way of life is relationship with a person. Last Saturday, we had 114 teens receive their Sacrament of Confirmation and we had this Saturday, 120 children from the English Faith Formation receive their First Communion. Keep these children in your prayers as we see them join us at the Altar of our Lord. Immaculate Heart of Mary, pray for us.

Imaculado Corazon de Maria,

Los discípulos de Jesús aún no lo entienden. Incluso después de decirles a los discípulos que va a la casa de su padre, donde habrá un lugar preparado para ellos. Thomas y Phillip hacen preguntas que muestran su falta de comprensión. Sin embargo, la respuesta de Jesús aclara las cosas: "Yo soy la verdad y el pífano. Nadie acude al padre salvo a través de mí." Jesús nos dice que Él es el camino. Como cualquier maestro, Jesús no solo dice a sus discípulos adónde ir. Más bien, dice: "Yo soy el Camino. Ven, sígueme." Jesús muestra a sus discípulos un modo de vida al Padre. La forma de vida es una persona. Pero este camino no siempre es fácil. Jesús nos dice que no dejemos que nuestro corazón se preocupe. Sin embargo, al hacerlo, Jesús no nos está diciendo que nunca experimentaremos ansiedad ni miedo. Más bien, Jesús nos recuerda que no tenemos que recorrer el camino solos. Habrá dificultad e incluso muerte, pero Jesús va adelante para preparar el camino para nosotros. Jesús quiere que compartamos con él tanto las alegrías como los desafíos de nuestro camino. De nuevo, la forma de vida es la relación con una persona. El sábado pasado, 114 adolescentes recibieron el Sacramento de la Confirmación, y este sábado, 120niños del programa de la Formación de Fe en inglés recibieron su Primera Comunión. Mantengan a estos niños en vuestras oraciones mientras los vemos unirse a nosotros en el Altar de nuestro Señor. Inmaculado Corazón de María, ruega por nosotros.
